The Paris Elementary School team is thrilled to announce we have won the Colorado Department of Education Social Emotional Health Pilot Grant. In addition to our school social worker, we have received funding to pilot proactive, preventative intensive social emotional intervention support. As part of this school-wide initiative, we are hiring 3 social workers to:

    • Work directly with our students, in individual and group prevention and intervention work
    • Provide leadership/training to all teachers and staff to elevate and integrate a culture of best SEL practices
    • Provide training and support, and partner with families for supporting SEL wellbeing for our students

Because of this grant, we anticipate having one of the lowest student-to-social worker ratios statewide. As Principal Mario Giardiello says:

"We are thrilled to have won this grant. We are piloting what we hope will be scalable across the ACTION Zone and other schools across the state. We know so many students will benefit from more social and emotional support - especially given the pandemic and other social, health, and economic factors. We care about our whole students, so this is putting that value to practice - and we are really excited to bring culturally responsive staff to continue leveling up this work."

This is a three-year grant; positions are one year, with the possibility of contract renewal. Please consider joining our team!
